Joao Palhinha to return to Bayern Munich after Tottenham loan

Midfielder Joao Palhinha will return to Bayern Munich this summer following the conclusion of his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the clubs engaged in negotiations regarding a permanent transfer for the 30-year-old Portuguese international, but those talks proved unsuccessful.

The London club attempted to negotiate a lower fee than the specified buyout option. The original terms required a payment of 25 million euros plus an additional five million in performance-related add-ons, but the clubs failed to find common ground.

Reports also suggest that Sporting CP has shown interest in the player, though the Portuguese side is currently unable to meet the financial demands for the deal. Other clubs are reportedly interested, though their identities remain undisclosed at this stage.

Last season, Palhinha made 45 appearances, contributing seven goals and three assists.
