James Wilson and Findlay Curtis leave Scotland squad for U21 duty

Forwards James Wilson and Findlay Curtis have left the senior Scotland squad to link up with the Under-21 team for their upcoming match against Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

Hearts striker Wilson and Rangers winger Curtis had been training in Spain as part of a 27-man group selected by new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli. Their move to the youth side means they will miss the senior Nations League fixtures against Slovenia and Switzerland.

The pair could potentially return to the senior setup for the October trip to North Macedonia and the home match against Slovenia. Wilson, who has five goals for Hearts this season, made history in March 2025 as Scotland's youngest men's international player, debuting against Greece at 18 years and 17 days old.

Curtis, who has five international caps, also holds a record as Scotland's youngest World Cup player following his appearances against Haiti and Brazil earlier this summer.
