Inter Milan may sell Stankovic to fund Curtis Jones move
Inter have activated their buy option for Aleksandar Stankovic, but are open to selling the midfielder to finance a swoop for Liverpool's Curtis Jones.
Inter Milan are considering the sale of midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic to generate funds for the acquisition of Liverpool's Curtis Jones. According to Tuttosport, the Italian club has already activated their buy option for the 21-year-old Serbian from Club Brugge for 23 million euros.
Although the player is now officially on Inter's books, the club remains open to a potential sale if they receive an offer that meets their financial expectations. Inter previously turned down a 40 million euro bid from Brentford, but they are prepared to negotiate further if a better offer arrives.
The funds raised would be directed towards signing Curtis Jones. The English midfielder is entering the final season of his contract at Anfield, and his market value is estimated at approximately 41 million euros.
Alternatively, Inter could wait for Jones's contract to expire to sign him as a free agent next summer. However, this strategy carries the risk of intense competition from other clubs interested in the midfielder's signature.
