Inter Milan lodge bid for Atalanta defender Marco Palestra
The Serie A giants have reportedly offered 40 million euros for the Italian defender, who spent last season on loan at Cagliari.
Inter Milan have stepped up their search for defensive reinforcements by submitting an official bid for Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra. Reports indicate the Milan-based club has proposed a deal worth 40 million euros plus an additional 5 million in performance-related bonuses for the 21-year-old.
In the 2025/26 season, Palestra emerged as one of the standout players in Serie A during his loan spell at Cagliari. His impressive performances earned him the title of the league's best defender and a senior debut for the Italy national team in March.
While Atalanta are keen to retain one of their brightest prospects as part of their long-term plans, the interest from Inter has created a challenging scenario for the club.
The move is viewed by Inter as a strategic play to secure a long-term successor for Denzel Dumfries. The Dutch full-back has been linked with potential summer exits, with Liverpool and Barcelona reportedly monitoring his situation.
