Inter Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of midfielder Curtis Jones. According to reports, the deal is valued at €35 million, consisting of a €31 million fixed fee plus €4 million in performance-related bonuses.
The negotiations spanned the entire summer, with Liverpool initially rejecting bids in the €20-25 million range as they held out for a figure closer to €40 million. Eventually, both clubs found common ground on a package that aligns with the Italian side's recent investment strategy.
For the 25-year-old, this represents his first move away from the club where he has spent his entire career. Since debuting in 2019, the academy graduate has made 228 appearances for the Reds, contributing 22 goals and 25 assists.
The transfer concludes a long-standing interest from the 'Nerazzurri', which dates back to January. With the player's contract originally set to expire in the summer of 2027, the move allows Liverpool to secure a significant fee rather than risk losing the midfielder for a lower value as he approached the end of his deal.
Personal terms have already been agreed upon between the player and the Italian club. The next step in the process is for Jones to travel for his medical examination before the transfer is finalized.
