Hernán Crespo dismisses River Plate rumors: 'I am happy at Atlas'
Argentine coach Hernán Crespo has confirmed he is fully committed to his project at Atlas and dismissed ongoing speculation linking him to River Plate.
Atlas manager Hernán Crespo has addressed the persistent rumors linking him to the River Plate managerial vacancy, expressing frustration at the constant speculation regarding his future.
Crespo, who is currently managing in Liga MX, reaffirmed his commitment to the Mexican club.
Everyone knows what River means to me. River is my home. Beyond all that, I am happy and grateful for the possibility to work at Atlas. But honestly, I find nothing positive in commenting on rumors. Every time River sacks a coach or is about to change one, having to answer this question is tiring, — said Hernán Crespo.
The coach also highlighted the recent acquisition of defender Adonis Frías, a player he previously managed at Defensa y Justicia. Crespo praised the club's leadership for their ability to bring in a player of such pedigree, noting that his team is currently undergoing a significant transformation.
Regarding further squad movement, Crespo admitted that additional signings could still occur before the transfer window closes. He emphasized that the club must learn to navigate the uncertainty that comes with its current growth process, noting that both players and staff must adapt to these changing circumstances as part of the team's development.
