Flamengo accuses Uruguay of violating medical protocols for Arrascaeta
The Brazilian club claims the Uruguayan federation failed to follow the established recovery plan for midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
Flamengo has released an official statement expressing serious concern over the treatment of Giorgian De Arrascaeta while he is with the Uruguay national team for the World Cup.
According to the club, the midfielder was released on May 18 to continue his recovery from a fractured right collarbone with the national team, following a formal request from the Uruguayan federation. The club provided the AUF with comprehensive documentation, including the recovery schedule and clinical guidelines. However, the club claims these recommendations were not followed.
The Flamengo medical department sent a document with the recovery schedule, the evolution of activities, and the protocols that should be followed. Unlike what was agreed, once again, these protocols were not followed.
The club emphasized that failing to adhere to medical procedures puts the athlete's health at risk. Despite the dissatisfaction, Flamengo noted that it had cooperated by authorizing the participation of their physiotherapist, Laniyan Neves, in the Uruguayan coaching staff to monitor the player's progress and align recovery processes.
