Fiorentina shows interest in Juventus defender Joao Mario
Portuguese defender Joao Mario is reportedly seeking a new club after failing to secure a place in Juventus' plans.
Portuguese full-back Joao Mario is at the center of transfer speculation. The 26-year-old, who joined Juventus from Porto for 12 million euros just over a year ago, has struggled to establish himself in Turin.
After spending the previous season on loan at Bologna, Mario returned to Turin but remains outside the club's plans for the upcoming campaign. A permanent move to the Rossoblu did not materialize, leaving the defender searching for a new destination.
Current reports suggest that Fiorentina is interested in his services. While it was initially believed that the Viola were waiting for clarity regarding their own defenders, Dodo and Niccolo Fortini, local media indicates that the interest in the Portuguese player is independent of those cases.
During the last season, Joao Mario made 28 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
