PSG forward Ferran Torres has been forced to leave the Spain national team camp. Following consultations between the national team's medical staff and their counterparts in Paris, the decision was made to release the 26-year-old to focus on his recovery from an ankle injury.

The player had been experiencing discomfort in his left ankle during recent training sessions. Despite attempts to manage the pain and remain with the squad for the upcoming fixtures against Czechia and Croatia, it was deemed necessary for him to return to his club to ensure proper rehabilitation.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Torres, who has enjoyed a prolific start to his career at the Parc des Princes following his nearly €50m summer move from Barcelona. His immediate impact included a brace on his debut against Stade Rennais and a standout hat-trick against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.

In response to the withdrawal, head coach Luis de la Fuente has called up Real Madrid prospect Carlos Espi. The 21-year-old earns his first senior call-up after delivering exceptional performances for the Spain Under-21 side, including a recent five-goal display that highlighted his readiness for international football.
