Midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has officially completed a season-long loan move to Borussia Dortmund. The German club accelerated their interest in the youngster following a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Giannis Konstantelias.
Nwaneri completed his medical in Germany, with the agreement containing no obligation or option for a permanent transfer next summer. With Arsenal boasting deep midfield options like Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, and Bruno Guimaraes, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the player needed to move for his development.

Nwaneri will wear the No. 18 shirt for his new side. Under UEFA regulations, the midfielder remains eligible to face his parent club should the two teams meet in the Champions League, with a potential clash at the Emirates Stadium on November 24.
The move is part of a busy deadline day for Arsenal, who also confirmed the departure of Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona for up to £12.9 million, and the permanent return of Fabio Vieira to Hamburg for £7.7 million.
