Enzo Fernandez booed by Chelsea fans during Alonso's first home win
Enzo Fernandez faced jeers from Chelsea supporters during a friendly against Real Sociedad, while Xabi Alonso celebrated his first home victory as manager.

The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge grew tense during a pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad as Enzo Fernandez was introduced as a substitute in the 62nd minute. The midfielder, heavily linked with a move to Manchester City to reunite with former manager Enzo Maresca, was met with audible jeers from the home crowd. The hostility appeared to be compounded by his decision to take the captain's armband from Reece James, a move that only served to further alienate sections of the fanbase.
Despite the off-pitch friction, manager Xabi Alonso enjoyed a successful introduction to the home dugout. His tactical vision was on display as record signing Morgan Rogers scored 11 minutes into his debut. Although Jon Aramburu equalised, Joao Pedro proved to be the decisive factor, netting a brace to seal the victory. The Brazilian forward has been in fine form throughout the summer, bringing his pre-season tally to seven goals.

Following a summer of transition that included matches against Tottenham, Juventus, and AC Milan, this win provides a morale boost. Alonso and his squad now head to Cobham to begin preparations for the Premier League opener against Fulham on August 24.
