Maciej Kedziorek, an analyst and set-piece coach at Dynamo Kyiv, has commented on the development of forward Matvii Ponomarenko. The young striker has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in England and Germany following his recent performance.
Kedziorek noted that when he first joined the club, Ponomarenko was regarded as the fourth-choice striker. However, the situation shifted significantly after Ihor Kostiuk took charge. Kostiuk, who previously worked with the player at the U-19 level where he scored over 100 goals, placed his trust in the forward.
When I came to Dynamo, he was the fourth striker. Then there was a coaching change. We went to training camps, and it became clear that Ihor Kostiuk would bet on him. A coach who believed in him. Matvii won every game in training, he dominated. Within two months, we saw simply incredible progress. Maciej Kedziorek
The coach emphasized that Ponomarenko possesses a natural instinct for scoring and the ability to find a path to the goal. This rapid development and his clinical finishing are the primary reasons for the growing interest from several foreign clubs.
