Diomande closes in on Nottingham Forest move

Nottingham Forest have resumed their pursuit of Sporting central defender Ousmane Diomande, with progress on a deal now accelerating. According to Fabrizio Romano, the English club is nearing an agreement with the Portuguese side for the 22-year-old.

The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of 40 million euros. Negotiations between the two clubs had previously stalled due to various issues, but both parties have now moved into the final stages of the process. All sides remain optimistic, though a few remaining details still need to be finalized before the move is complete.

Diomande has been with Sporting since 2023, following his move from Danish side Midtjylland. During his time in Portugal, he has made 132 appearances for the club, contributing 7 goals and 3 assists.
