Davide Ancelotti: I enjoy watching Barcelona, and Vinicius is untouchable

Davide Ancelotti, son of the legendary Carlo Ancelotti, is carving out his own path as a manager at Lille. He describes the French club as a unique project built on careful planning, financial stability, and a consistent presence in European competition, which allows them to develop young talent effectively.

Reflecting on the evolution of the game, Ancelotti notes that elite teams are increasingly prioritizing their defensive phase. He cites Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain as prime examples of sides built on rock-solid defensive foundations. He also admits to enjoying watching the current Barcelona side for their direct approach and the way they utilize space, specifically highlighting the role of Raphinha.

Regarding Real Madrid, Ancelotti spoke with great admiration about Toni Kroos, stating that the German midfielder was irreplaceable and that the club must find a new balance rather than seeking a clone. On Vinícius Júnior, he insists the Brazilian is an untouchable player who requires a specific tactical structure around him to maximize his attacking impact without compromising the team's balance.

Winning is the most important thing. Davide Ancelotti

Davide does not hide his ambition to manage Real Madrid one day, having served on their coaching staff previously. However, he remains pragmatic about his career progression: "It depends on whether I deserve it or not. It is not about Real Madrid alone, but on me and on what I can achieve." For now, his focus remains entirely on delivering results at Lille, acknowledging that names do not open doors to the top—only success does.
