Sullivan resigned from his position as co-chair of the club in June following a joint investigation that brought forward allegations of predatory behaviour, which he has categorically denied. The stadium operators have requested advance notice of any future visits by the major shareholder, who retains a 38.8% stake in the club, to ensure additional safety and operational measures are in place.

Saturday's game marks the club's first home outing since the allegations were made public. With the club having sold 55,000 season tickets for the upcoming campaign, the match is anticipated to set an attendance record for an EFL Cup first-round tie.
