Dani Carvajal is in advanced negotiations to join Getafe as a free agent. The 34-year-old defender has been without a club since his contract with Real Madrid expired on June 30, and despite reported interest from Italy, he now appears set to remain in the Spanish capital.
Talks between the player and the club are progressing well, with a medical examination expected to be the final hurdle. Securing the experienced full-back would be a significant coup for Getafe manager Pepe Bordalas, who has publicly stated his need for a deeper squad to manage the club's commitments across La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Conference League.
The move comes at a strategic time for the club, as they currently sit 11th in the league and face defensive shortages. Right-back Kiko Femenia has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since early September, leaving the position vulnerable. Given Carvajal's history of physical setbacks, his ability to pass a rigorous medical will be the primary condition for any deal to be finalized.
