Cruz Azul Femenil beats Atlante with Daniela Calderon's brace

Cruz Azul continues their strong start to the Apertura 2026 season. The team capitalized on their home advantage to secure a 2-1 victory against Atlante, maintaining their perfect start to the campaign.

The breakthrough came early in the 8th minute when Daniela Calderon connected with a cross from Desiree Mendoza on the right flank, finishing with a clever backheel inside the six-yard box. Despite consistent pressure from the hosts, the visitors grew into the game as the first half progressed.

In the second half, Atlante managed to equalize in the 66th minute through a header from Ricshya Walker, following a cross by Karen Becerril. However, the final moments belonged to Cruz Azul. Daniela Calderon struck again, anticipating the ball at the near post from a set-piece to seal the victory for her side.
