Coventry City have confirmed the return of midfielder Gustavo Hamer. The 29-year-old has rejoined the club from Sheffield United on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.

Hamer spent three successful years with the Sky Blues prior to his 2023 move to Sheffield United. During his initial stint, he made 132 appearances, scored 19 goals, and earned the club's player of the year award for the 2021-22 season.

To go to the Premier League with Coventry was something I always dreamt of so when the club came back in for me, it was very special so I'm very happy. The love I got from the fans was amazing so the only thing I can give back to them is goals, assists and a good performance. Gustavo Hamer

During the 2023-24 season, Hamer featured for Sheffield United in the Premier League. Across his time with the Yorkshire club, he recorded 22 goals and 29 assists in 123 matches in all competitions.

Before moving to English football, Hamer played in the Eredivisie for Feyenoord and PEC Zwolle and represented the Netherlands at the youth international level.
