Corinthians hit with new FIFA transfer ban

FIFA has imposed a new transfer ban on Corinthians due to unpaid fines related to previous transfer debts.

Corinthians hit with new FIFA transfer ban

Brazilian club Corinthians has received a new transfer ban from FIFA. The governing body officially announced a new financial pending issue for the club, resulting in a fresh block on registering new players.

This sanction stems from the failure to pay fines associated with three separate transfer cases involving players José Martínez, Charles, and Talles Magno. Under FIFA regulations, clubs must pay not only the original debt but also additional fines, which Corinthians have yet to settle. The total amount due is approximately $225,000.

The club is currently navigating a difficult financial period, having prioritized paying player salaries and image rights. Management is reportedly working to settle the outstanding amounts with FIFA as soon as possible to lift the restriction.

Corinthians continues to struggle with multiple financial obligations. Significant debts remain with other clubs: $1.5 million owed to Philadelphia Union for Martínez, approximately €1 million owed to Midtjylland for Charles, and $850,000 owed to New York City for Talles Magno.
