Brighton have officially secured the signing of 19-year-old Croatian central defender Luka Vuskovic. The defender moves from Tottenham on a permanent transfer, signing a long-term contract that keeps him at the club until 2031, with an option for an additional year.
The fee of 54 million euros establishes a new record for the most expensive signing in Brighton's history. This move also makes Vuskovic the second most expensive Croatian player ever, trailing only Josko Gvardiol, who moved to Manchester City for 90 million euros in 2023.
Vuskovic leaves Tottenham without making a single competitive appearance for the London side. After officially arriving at Tottenham in 2025, he spent the previous season on loan at Hamburg. The former Hajduk Split prospect has already earned 6 caps for the Croatian national team.
This deal marks another major transaction between the two clubs this summer, following the move of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton to Tottenham last month for a fee approaching 60 million euros.
