Borussia Dortmund to extend Niko Kovač's contract until 2029
Borussia Dortmund has reached an agreement to extend head coach Niko Kovač's contract for two additional seasons.
The management of Borussia Dortmund has made a decision regarding the future of head coach Niko Kovač. Following successful negotiations, the club and the manager have agreed on terms for a new deal.
The 54-year-old coach will continue his tenure with the club until the summer of 2029. With his previous contract set to expire at the end of June 2027, this new agreement extends his stay by an additional two years.
The move comes after an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign. After four matchdays in the Bundesliga, the team has collected 12 points, sitting at the top of the table and leading Bayern Munich by two points.
Niko Kovač and his squad are now preparing for their next league fixture, where they will host Werder Bremen on October 9.
