Barcelona secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against Athletic in their second match of the Spanish La Liga season. The result continues the positive momentum for the home side.
The deadlock was broken in the 37th minute when Pedri provided a pinpoint pass to Raphinha, who rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net. The lead was extended in the 82nd minute by Fermin Lopez, who capitalized on a defensive error by the Basque side inside the box to seal the win.
This performance marks a second straight victory for Hansi-Dieter Flick's squad, following their opening result against Elche. Conversely, Athletic remain without points after suffering their second consecutive defeat, having previously lost to Sevilla.
