Barcelona plot sensational hijack for Rodri
Barcelona are reportedly ready to challenge Real Madrid for the signature of Manchester City's Rodri, who has tactical reservations about a move to the Bernabeu.

The race to sign Manchester City midfield general Rodri has taken a dramatic turn. Reports suggest that Barcelona are prepared to launch a hijack attempt for the player, who was long considered the primary target for Real Madrid.
Although Real Madrid began formal negotiations ten days ago with the backing of president Florentino Perez, no agreement has been reached. Complicating matters are suggestions that Rodri holds reservations about the potential move. The midfielder reportedly feels his technical style is better suited to Barcelona's philosophy than the tactical system favored by Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu.
Financial constraints remain the primary hurdle for the Catalan club. Officials are concerned about fitting his substantial salary within league-mandated wage caps. Furthermore, there is a significant valuation gap: Manchester City are holding out for approximately £56m, while Real Madrid have reportedly offered only £43m.

City manager Enzo Maresca remains composed, shifting the focus to the player's health. Rodri recently underwent surgery for a back issue, having also struggled with hamstring and groin problems throughout the previous season. For now, his immediate priority is returning to full fitness.
