Ayman Hussein on the verge of joining Pakhtakor

Iraqi international striker Ayman Hussein is closing in on a new challenge in Central Asia. He is on the brink of joining Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor following the finalisation of terms during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The captain of the Iraq national team is expected to land in Tashkent next Saturday. Upon arrival, he will undergo a mandatory medical examination before formally signing his contract with the historic Uzbek club.

Hussein spent the 2025-2026 season with Iraqi side Al-Karma but opted to pursue his professional career abroad. Despite receiving several offers from local rivals, including Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Erbil, the striker chose to seek a new experience outside of Iraq.

If the deal is completed, Hussein will become the third Iraqi player to represent Pakhtakor, following in the footsteps of Bashar Resan and Zaid Tahseen. This move provides the forward with a valuable opportunity to showcase his talents in a different competitive landscape and contribute to Pakhtakor's domestic and continental ambitions next season.
