Atletico Mineiro trio may miss return match against Bahia
Alan Minda, Alan Franco, and Ángelo Preciado are unlikely to feature for Atletico Mineiro in their first match back after the World Cup break.
Atletico Mineiro faces potential squad absences ahead of their return to domestic action following the World Cup break. The trio of players who represented the Ecuador national team are unlikely to be available for manager Eduardo Domínguez in the upcoming match against Bahia at Arena MRV on Tuesday, July 21.
While Alan Minda and Ángelo Preciado have returned to the club's training facility, they have not yet joined the main squad for training sessions. Both are currently undergoing physical conditioning programs to reach peak fitness following their participation in the tournament and subsequent break. With only three training sessions left before the Bahia clash, it is unlikely they will be match-ready.
Meanwhile, midfielder Alan Franco has yet to report back to the club. He was granted permission by Atletico to remain in Ecuador to attend to personal matters regarding a family member's health. Consequently, he is expected to be unavailable for the team's first match back.
The match marks the final round of the first half of the Brazilian Championship. Atletico Mineiro currently sits in 11th place with 24 points and is looking to climb the table during the second half of the season.
