Arsenal prospect Louie Copley suffers devastating ACL injury

Arsenal academy prospect Louie Copley has been dealt a significant injury blow during the club's pre-season preparations. The 19-year-old midfielder, who was introduced at right-back during a friendly against Real Betis in Dublin, sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear just minutes into his appearance.

Sharing the news on social media, Copley expressed his heartbreak, stating that his dream of playing pre-season football with his boyhood club had been suddenly interrupted. Despite the setback, the versatile youngster vowed to remain resilient and work tirelessly toward a recovery.

This injury comes at a pivotal time in his development. Following a productive loan spell at Crawley Town last season, Copley had been impressing coaching staff in his new role, including a standout performance against Girona earlier in the pre-season. He had previously served as captain for the Arsenal U21 side.

The club had been considering another loan move to further his senior experience, but those plans are now on hold. Copley faces an extensive period of surgery and rehabilitation, which is expected to keep him out of action for the majority of the upcoming campaign.
