Arsenal have initiated direct negotiations with Newcastle United regarding a potential transfer for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. According to journalist Gary Jacob, the London club has established contact with the Magpies' hierarchy to explore a deal.
The Gunners are reportedly serious about signing the Brazilian international. Newcastle may be forced to evaluate the future of one of their key players should Arsenal submit an official bid in the region of £75 million.
Guimaraes was a central figure for Newcastle last season, making 41 appearances, scoring nine goals, and providing eight assists.
The potential move could trigger further squad changes for Mikel Arteta's side. Previous reports suggested that the arrival of Guimaraes could lead to the departure of midfielder Christian Norgaard from the Emirates Stadium.
