It has been a difficult few days for Sevilla defender Arouna Sangante. Following his controversial sending-off in the match against Espanyol, the Frenchman returned to the club with a right ankle sprain.
Due to this injury, Sangante was unable to participate in the first training session of the week under Luis García Plaza. While his recovery timeline remains undisclosed, the club is unlikely to appeal his expected suspension for the direct red card, as he would be unavailable to play regardless.
With Sangante sidelined, the coaching staff must reorganize the center of their defense. Currently, Castrín and Kike Salas are the only fully fit central defenders available. Marcao is still lacking match fitness, while Cardoso continues to train individually and has not yet been registered for La Liga.
Meanwhile, Ruben Vargas remains absent from training as he continues to struggle with a right knee issue. It is unlikely that he will be available for this Friday's clash against Valencia at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
