Andoni Iraola closes in on Bayer Leverkusen managerial role

Bayer Leverkusen is in advanced negotiations with Andoni Iraola to become the club's new head coach. The 43-year-old Spaniard, who recently departed Bournemouth, has emerged as the primary candidate for the role.
During his tenure in the Premier League, Iraola set new points records in each of his three seasons at the club. His tactical approach, defined by aggressive high pressing and quick, vertical play, is seen as the ideal fit for the project in Leverkusen.
This move comes as the club looks to move past a disappointing second half of the previous season under Kasper Hjulmand. Iraola was previously linked with the vacant managerial position at AC Milan, but he has opted to continue his career in the Bundesliga instead.
