Alessio Lishi: We improved our play and beat a good team

PAOK head coach Alessio Lishi shared his emotions following his side's convincing 2-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in the return leg of the second Europa League qualifying round. The result secured the Greek club's progression to the next stage of the tournament.

Lishi emphasized that it was crucial for him to gauge his team's competitiveness in this matchup. According to the manager, the side is steadily increasing the number of quality periods during games, despite a sluggish start to the match.

I think it was very important today to see on the pitch how competitive we are. We improved our game and got a win against a good team.Alessio Lishi

The manager also pointed to defensive improvements compared to the first leg, where he was unhappy with the team's positioning late in the match. Additionally, Lishi praised Giannis Konstantelias, focusing not on the player's technical skills, but on his work off the ball and constant pressing.

For the manager, the evening was particularly significant as it marked his debut at the home stadium, Toumba. He expressed hope that PAOK would be able to deliver more such performances in European competitions moving forward.
