Zinedine Zidane bans media from France player arrivals at Clairefontaine

Zinedine Zidane has initiated a firm shift in culture upon taking charge of the France national team. The new manager has banned journalists and camera crews from covering the traditional arrival of players at the Clairefontaine training base.

In recent years, the arrival of national team stars had evolved into an informal fashion show, with players like Jules Kounde frequently making headlines for their eccentric outfits. Zidane has moved to end this external spectacle immediately, prioritising total concentration on pitch preparation over personal appearances.

Zidane's technical staff intend to keep the opening days of the training camp under strict internal control to avoid media frenzy and unnecessary controversies. By closing the gates to photographers, the management hopes to allow the squad to settle in and adapt to new demands without outside influence.

Alongside these disciplinary adjustments, Zidane has assembled a significantly larger technical team than his predecessor. He has brought in new staff, including physical trainer Arthur Hochede and podiatrist Serge Isidro, while his key assistants have been conducting extensive scouting across various stadiums.

Zidane is set to unveil his first France squad this Friday at 6:00 pm. The announcement is expected to feature a modernized presentation format, signalling a break from the methods used during the 14-year tenure of Didier Deschamps.
