Wydad set to appoint Daniel Carreño as head coach
Following the election of Ibrahim El Asri as president, Wydad Casablanca is set to appoint former Al-Nassr manager Daniel Carreño to lead their new project.

Wydad Casablanca has begun a major restructuring following the election of Ibrahim El Asri as club president. The new management is moving quickly to define the team's direction for the coming season, with a new head coach at the top of their agenda.
According to Le Site Info Sport, the club has decided to appoint Uruguayan coach Daniel Carreño. After considering several local options, the management opted for a foreign expert to lead the team, securing a one-year deal that includes his full technical staff.
Carreño was a key part of Ibrahim El Asri's electoral platform, reflecting the club's confidence in his track record, which includes leading Al-Nassr to a Saudi league title.
Alongside the coaching change, Wydad is also looking to bolster its squad. The club is expected to resume negotiations for Younes Eddahmani, a prominent star in the Moroccan league. Previous talks were stalled by the presidential elections, but pressure is mounting from within the club to finalize the transfer given the player's clear desire to join the team.
