Wycombe Wanderers sign former England striker Danny Ings
Former Burnley, Liverpool and England forward Danny Ings has joined League One side Wycombe Wanderers as a free agent.
League One side Wycombe Wanderers have completed the signing of 34-year-old striker Danny Ings. The forward, who began the current campaign as a free agent following a spell with Sheffield United, has joined the club.
Ings, who previously played alongside current Wycombe coach Sam Vokes at Burnley, has already been training with his new teammates. Tom Stockwell, the club's director of football strategy and data intelligence, confirmed that the striker is match-fit and ready for selection. He is eligible to make his debut this Saturday when the Chairboys host Reading at Adams Park.
The move marks the eighth club of Ings' 17-year professional career. Throughout his time in the game, he has represented Bournemouth, Burnley, Liverpool, Southampton, Aston Villa, and West Ham United. He also earned three international caps for England, scoring his first and only goal in a 2020 friendly against Wales.
Wycombe currently sit 14th in the league table. The squad has been under the guidance of caretaker manager Tom Hounsell since the departure of Michael Duff on 8 September.
