Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has spoken about Thomas Tuchel's coaching methods during the 2026 World Cup, noting that the manager is not afraid to shout at England players to maintain intensity during training sessions.
Speaking from England's training base in Kansas City, Watkins emphasized that Tuchel's demanding nature is a necessary component of their goal to win the tournament. "I think he is not afraid to shout at you. He is always demanding from you and making sure you are on it every day," said Watkins.

Tuchel recently made headlines when he was filmed directing Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence to "wake up" during a drill. Spence, who has been called up to the squad, insists that such feedback is expected from an elite manager.
"It's normal, you know. He's an elite manager - he demands the highest quality from his players, and we want to give the highest quality back as well," Spence said. Having featured in England's 4-2 opening win against Croatia, Spence maintains a positive relationship with the coach, who reminds him of his tactical duties and individual qualities.
