The absence of striker Armando Gonzalez from the match against Santos Laguna caused concern among Chivas fans. Head coach Gabriel Milito confirmed that there is a formal offer on the table from Greek side Olympiacos for the forward.
The Argentine manager decided not to include him in the squad for the game, believing that the uncertainty surrounding his potential departure could affect his focus and performance on the pitch.
I preferred to start with Marin and finish with Sepulveda to give 'Hormiga' some peace, because when these situations happen, there is always extra anxiety. We needed everyone focused on the game. Gabriel Milito
The coach dismissed the idea that the player was left out because a deal was already done, clarifying that he simply wanted to provide the player with tranquility during this period. If the transfer does not materialize, Gonzalez will return to the squad.
Milito noted that the club will defend its interests, and if the offer is not satisfactory, the player will remain. However, he admitted that if a convincing offer arrives that aligns with both the club's and the player's aspirations of playing in Europe, the striker could indeed be playing his final days in Guadalajara.
