Watford to part ways with Kristian Shevchenko
19-year-old Ukrainian winger is set to become a free agent at the end of the season as Watford decides not to extend his contract.
English side Watford has announced the release of several players from its academy following the conclusion of the season. Among those whose contracts will not be extended is 19-year-old Ukrainian winger Kristian Shevchenko.
The player joined the Hornets' system in the summer of 2023 after leaving the Chelsea academy. Last summer, he signed a one-year deal with an option for an additional year, but the club has opted not to trigger the clause.
During his time at Watford, Shevchenko played for the U-17, U-18, and U-21 squads. In the current campaign, he made five appearances in the U-21 Premier League Cup, scoring two goals.
On the international stage, the winger debuted for the Ukraine U20 national team in 2025 and has already accumulated four caps. Primarily a right winger, he is also capable of playing on the left flank or as a center-forward.
