Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen apologised to fans after a disappointing 2-2 draw against newly-promoted Corum FK in their Super Lig season opener. The Nigeria international, who scored both goals for the hosts, felt responsible for the team's failure to secure all three points.
After the final whistle, the striker was pressed on reports linking him with a move to Arsenal. Maintaining a diplomatic stance, Osimhen did not entirely rule out a future departure:
There are always rumours during the transfer windows. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about what comes next then. Victor Osimhen
Despite the speculation, the forward reiterated his current dedication to the Istanbul club:
It’s going to be a tough season. The team is aware of that. I’m ready to give everything for this club. This was an important wake-up call. Victor Osimhen
Osimhen remains under contract at Rams Park until June 2029, though reports suggest Arsenal have discussed a potential deal. The forward now calls for an immediate collective response from his teammates to gain momentum before their upcoming Champions League campaign.
