Ustymenko: Obolon ready for the Ukrainian Cup challenge against Karpaty

Obolon forward Denys Ustymenko has shared his expectations ahead of the 1/32 final of the Ukrainian Cup against Karpaty Lviv. The striker confirmed that the team is in good physical and mental shape following a productive week of training.

Ustymenko noted that a strong opponent only adds to the motivation. According to him, succeeding against a team like Karpaty would provide a significant confidence boost for the squad. The player also reflected on his time playing for the Lviv club, emphasizing the special atmosphere and intensity that surrounds Cup matches in the city.

"We understand Karpaty's strength. They are in great form and playing attacking football. At the same time, we see that they have certain issues when defending against fast counter-attacks. That is what our coaching staff is focusing on," Ustymenko explained.

The forward also commented on the prospect of facing his former teammate Denys Marchenko, who now plays for the Lviv side. Ustymenko expressed a positive outlook, stating that his primary goal is to secure a victory for Obolon in the away fixture.
