The USMNT 26-player roster for the upcoming World Cup has been unveiled, highlighting several tactical shifts under head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The squad features the notable inclusion of Alejandro Zendejas, who earns his spot following an impressive run of form with Club America.
However, the roster also includes significant omissions. Midfielders Tanner Tessmann and Aidan Morris, both of whom had been regular call-ups under Pochettino, have missed the cut. Additionally, Johnny Cardoso remains unavailable for selection due to injury.
In defense, the team received positive news regarding Crystal Palace centerback Chris Richards, who has been included in the squad while recovering from an ankle injury. He joins a defensive group that features five centerback options in total.
The final squad confirmation is scheduled for Tuesday in New York City. The team will then turn its attention to pre-tournament friendlies against Senegal and Germany before opening their campaign against Paraguay on June 12.
