The team originally planned to debut a special reserve kit from adidas, a 'Bringback' collection item inspired by the green jersey worn during their 1990 World Cup campaign.
However, UEFA has prohibited the use of this kit, citing non-compliance with modern requirements. Specifically, the sleeves lack the necessary space for official UEFA competition sponsor logos, and the jersey is missing the required player numbers on the chest.
As a result, adidas has fast-tracked the release of an alternative black reserve kit. This new design is dedicated to marking the end of the historic 72-year partnership between the sportswear giant and the German national team.
