UEFA bans Fenerbahce's Guendouzi and Greenwood after Lyon brawl

UEFA has confirmed disciplinary sanctions following the post-match brawl that erupted after Fenerbahce secured a 3-2 aggregate win over Lyon in their Champions League play-off tie.
Midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has been handed a four-match European ban, with two games suspended, and fined 50,000 euros. He was found guilty of insulting others, provoking spectators, and violating basic rules of conduct. During the aftermath of the match, Guendouzi was seen taunting home fans by shouting "Allez l'OM" — a reference to his former club Marseille.
Forward Mason Greenwood received a one-match suspended ban and a 30,000 euro fine for failing to adhere to conduct standards. Meanwhile, Lyon goalkeeping coach Antonio Ferreira received a five-match ban for "serious assault" during the scuffles that extended into the stadium tunnel. Both clubs were also issued 50,000 euro fines.
Guendouzi defended his actions post-match, stating he felt disrespected by sustained verbal abuse directed at his family by Lyon supporters throughout the game. He expressed disappointment that refereeing officials did not intervene to address the crowd's behavior.
