Tottenham close in on £65m deal for Man City winger Savinho

Tottenham are on the verge of completing the signing of winger Savinho from Manchester City in a deal worth £65 million. The north London club has tracked the 22-year-old Brazil international since last summer, though previous attempts to secure his services were unsuccessful.

Savinho faced a challenging campaign at City last season, contributing just one Premier League goal in 24 appearances. Despite these struggles, Spurs believe he will be an integral part of Roberto De Zerbi’s tactical vision. The player recently sparked transfer speculation by posting an Instagram story featuring a suitcase and a comment about being "off to have some fun," which was widely interpreted as an indication of his impending departure.

This move is a core component of De Zerbi’s efforts to reshape the squad following a disappointing 17th-place finish last term. Tottenham have already invested over £200 million this summer, bringing in players such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke.

While Manchester City are reportedly scouting potential replacements, including Paris Saint-Germain's youngster Ibrahim Mbaye, Tottenham are not finished. De Zerbi remains focused on adding at least two more attacking options to bolster competition and tactical flexibility. Meanwhile, the manager has assured 21-year-old Mathys Tel that he remains a key figure in the club’s plans for the 2026-27 season, regardless of new arrivals.
