England manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that a group of young players will travel with the national team to the USA for the World Cup training camp. Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, and Fulham's Josh King are set to join the squad as training players.
Tuchel noted that a fourth player will be included, though the name remains undisclosed while the participation is finalized. Additionally, it was previously reported that Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele will join the group as a training goalkeeper.
This decision is a response to the squad's preparation timeline. Key players including Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Declan Rice will join the team late due to their involvement in the Champions League final on May 30 and the subsequent Premier League title parade.
The inclusion provides valuable experience for the young prospects. Rio Ngumoha has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Liverpool with 28 first-team appearances, while Alex Scott and Josh King have established themselves as regulars for Bournemouth and Fulham respectively this term.
