Following a remarkable campaign of domestic football, The Athletic has unveiled its annual end-of-season awards. The 2025-26 season saw Arsenal clinch the Premier League title, while Bayern Munich set new scoring benchmarks in Germany, Barcelona reclaimed La Liga, and Inter Milan dominated Serie A.
Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United was named the Premier League Player of the Season, recognized for his record-equalling 20 assists and unmatched creative influence. Meanwhile, the Premier League Young Player of the Season award went to Manchester City's Nico O’Reilly, who transitioned seamlessly into a key first-team role.
Regis Le Bris secured the Manager of the Season award for his tactical success at Sunderland, guiding the newly-promoted side to the upper reaches of the table. On the European stage, Harry Kane stood out as the European Men’s Player of the Season, netting an astonishing 58 goals for Bayern Munich.
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal was crowned the European Men’s Young Player of the Season, continuing his rapid rise as a global star. Vincent Kompany was named the European Men’s Manager of the Season, having successfully restored Bayern Munich to the top of the Bundesliga with a record-breaking offensive display.
