A bizarre incident unfolded during Coritiba's victory against Chapecoense in the Brazilian league. Club captain Jacy Maranhao found himself in an unexpected predicament after scoring a header, leading to an injury that has since gone viral.
After netting the goal, the 29-year-old decided to celebrate with the fans, leaping over an advertising hoarding. However, he failed to notice an open trapdoor leading to the dressing room stairs. The fall resulted in an ankle injury, and to make matters worse, the goal was ultimately disallowed for offside following a review.

The incident bears a striking resemblance to a 2014 match at Estadio Couto Pereira, where striker Joel fell down the exact same opening after scoring against Sao Paulo. Reports noted that the steward who assisted Maranhao was the same individual who helped Joel twelve years prior.
