Tottenham and Everton are finalising a major transfer shake-up, with Richarlison set to return to Merseyside and Iliman Ndiaye heading to north London. Although the deals were negotiated concurrently, the clubs are treating them as separate transactions.

The move comes amidst a chaotic period for Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi. Richarlison, alongside teammates Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr, officially requested to leave the club before the deadline. The trio was omitted from the squad for the 2-0 home loss against Newcastle United.

"Richarlison, I don't know. He said too many times he wants to leave. If they want to leave, they have to bring the economic solution to the club, and they can go and we find other players," said Roberto De Zerbi.

Richarlison leaves London after a two-year stint where he scored 32 goals in 134 appearances. He returns to the club where he previously became a fan favourite, netting 53 goals in 152 games. For Tottenham, Ndiaye arrives to bolster an attack that missed out on Cody Gakpo, who opted for a move to Manchester City instead.

Spurs currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, having lost their opening two fixtures without scoring for the first time since 1974-75. Despite a £350 million summer rebuild, the team has struggled to find form, and integrating new arrivals has become an urgent priority to arrest their alarming slide.
