Shakhtar Donetsk has officially announced a contract extension with young forward Mohamadu Kante. The new deal with the 19-year-old Gambian player runs until June 30, 2031.
Kante joined the Shakhtar academy in 2024 and became the top scorer of the National U-19 League in the 2025/26 season, scoring 28 goals in 28 matches. With this performance, he set a new record for the most goals in a single season in the Ukrainian youth championship, surpassing the previous record of 24 goals held by Dynamo Kyiv striker Matviy Ponomarenko.
The club expects the promising forward to continue his development with the aim of eventually securing a place in the first team.
