Shakhtar Donetsk central defender Luka Latsabidze is closing in on a move away from the Ukrainian club. According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Georgian international is set to continue his career with Torpedo Kutaisi.
The parties have reportedly reached an agreement regarding the transfer. It remains unclear whether the deal will be a loan move or a permanent transfer.
Latsabidze joined the «Miners» in early 2024 but failed to make an official appearance for the first team. His time in Ukraine was largely defined by a loan spell at Chornomorets, where he made 18 appearances. Before arriving in Ukraine, he spent time at Dinamo Tbilisi and also had a brief loan spell at Danish side Vejle, where he did not make his debut.
This move is a significant step for the 21-year-old, who currently serves as captain for the Georgia U-21 national team. A return to his home country is expected to provide him with the consistent playing time he struggled to find during his stint with Shakhtar, despite having a contract with the Donetsk side until the summer of 2028.
