Sergej Jakirovic praises Hull City after thrilling draw with Chelsea

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic could not hide his pride after watching his side battle to a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. After falling behind to an early Morgan Rogers strike, the visitors responded with a brace from Mohamed Belloumi to take the lead.

Despite a second-half equalizer from Joao Pedro, Jakirovic praised the character shown by his players against one of the league's heavyweights. The Tigers have enjoyed a remarkable start to the campaign, remaining unbeaten and securing eight points from a challenging opening stretch.

The draw came with a cost, however, as defender Nobel Mendy was forced off following a collision. Jakirovic confirmed after the match that the player had been taken to the hospital. "He's dizzy and disorientated. We'll see. It's a concussion 100%," the manager explained.

For Chelsea, the result marks another league stumble under Xabi Alonso. Despite their early success, the Blues failed to carry their recent League Cup momentum into Saturday's encounter.
