Second Hull City player in a month crashes car near training ground
Summer signing Lucas Gourna-Douath crashed on the same street in Cottingham where Sorba Thomas overturned his vehicle three weeks ago.

Hull City midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath has been involved in a serious road accident near the club's training facility in Cottingham. The incident occurred on October 1, 2026, when the player's Mercedes vehicle overturned on the narrow Millhouse Woods Lane.
Humberside Police confirmed that no injuries were reported following the single-vehicle collision. The crash marks the second identical incident involving a Hull City player in recent weeks; on September 11, teammate Sorba Thomas also flipped his Land Rover on the same road.

The recurring accidents have prompted concern regarding road safety in the area. Local councillor Phil Redshaw noted that he had previously contacted the club to urge them to remind staff to exercise greater caution while driving to and from the training ground.
